The Balearic Government Ends the First Quarter with a Supplier Payment Period of 25.9 Days—Five Days Below the Average of the Past Five Years

This figure of 25.9 days puts the Balearic Islands five days below the average for March over the last five years (2020–2024), which stands at 30.9 days. Specifically, the averages were: 33.8 days in 2020, 30.6 in 2021, 25.3 in 2022, 31.2 in 2023, and 33.6 in 2024. Additionally, total payments made during the first three months of 2025 amount to 500 million euros.

On the other hand, it is also worth noting that the regional government increased its re-guarantees on the guarantees granted by ISBA, SGR by 12.96% in 2024, reaching 14 million euros. This continues the upward trend observed since 2021, when re-guarantees amounted to around 3 million euros.

In this way, each euro re-guaranteed by the Government turns into 7.7 euros of financing for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMES) in the Balearic Islands, as part of its policy to facilitate access to credit through the regional mutual guarantee society, ISBA, SGR. According to a report published in March by the Independent Authority for Fiscal Responsibility (AIReF), the Balearic Islands, along with the Basque Country, Castilla y León, and Galicia, have the highest percentage of companies benefiting from public guarantees concerning the weight of their business sector in the Spanish economy.
