The program will enable the hiring of young people with university degrees, vocational training, or professional certificates across 67 local entities in the Balearic Islands

The Ministry of Business, Employment, and Energy, through the Employment Service of the Balearic Islands (SOIB), has allocated €7,630,114.71 to subsidise the employment costs of hiring 249 young unemployed individuals aged between 18 and 30. This is part of the program “SOIB Employment Opportunities for Qualified Young People in Local Entities 2025.”
This initiative, co-financed by the European Union under the ESF+ Operational Program of the Autonomous Community of the Balearic Islands 2021–2027, allows municipalities, island councils, municipal associations, and public law entities dependent on or linked to public administrations within the Balearic territory to hire young qualified individuals.

SOIB Launches 249 Job Openings
Those hired must hold a university degree, intermediate or advanced vocational training, level 2 or 3 professional certificates, or equivalent qualifications in the fields of arts or sports that allow them to practice professionally.
The program promotes the hiring of qualified young people who are registered with SOIB as job seekers and are beneficiaries of the National Youth Guarantee System. Eligible candidates must meet the requirements to sign a training contract that provides professional experience suited to their level of education.
A total of 67 local entities are participating in this edition of the program: 4 municipal associations, 3 island councils, 5 public law entities, and 56 municipalities in the Balearic Islands.
Contracts will have a duration of one year, starting between May 1 and September 1, 2025 (both dates inclusive). In total, 249 job positions are being offered, distributed as follows:
- 146 positions for individuals with a university degree in the fields of arts and humanities, sciences, health sciences, social and legal sciences, engineering and architecture, or advanced artistic education.
- 76 positions for individuals with advanced vocational training or level 3 professional certificates in areas such as administration and management, marketing and commerce, audiovisual and graphic arts, IT and communications, socio-cultural and community services, construction, electricity and electronics, hospitality, physical and sports activities, and technical or artistic studies.
- 27 positions for individuals with intermediate vocational training or level 2 professional certificates in sectors such as administration and management, vehicle maintenance and transport, IT and communications, healthcare, socio-cultural and community services, electricity and electronics, hospitality, and sports or artistic technical training.
This program is part of SOIB’s commitment to fostering qualified youth employment and collaborating with local administrations to generate professional opportunities within the region.
