The Consell de Mallorca has provided free transportation to facilitate associations’ participation during the three-day event.
The president of the Consell de Mallorca, Llorenç Galmés, accompanied by the Minister of the Presidency, Antoni Fuster, has taken part in the traditional gatherings in Lluc organised by the Federation of Associations of Elderly People from the Part Forana of Mallorca. Over three days, 3,500 people from 67 associations will travel to the sanctuary to strengthen ties among organisations and enjoy an event that has become an essential annual fixture for the island’s senior community.
The island institution has arranged free transportation for all participating associations—an initiative promoted following a request by the Federation’s president, Joan Bibiloni, thus ensuring maximum participation.
Llorenç Galmés, who is taking part in this week’s gatherings, emphasised that “these days in Lluc are much more than just a meeting of associations: they are a symbol of the vitality of our senior citizens and the connection they maintain with the community.” He also pointed out that “spaces like this foster togetherness, intergenerational respect, and the value of shared traditions.”

Galmés added, “From the Consell de Mallorca, we will continue working to ensure that older people remain active protagonists in the present, with opportunities to reconnect, engage, and enjoy their time to the fullest.”
As every year, one of the most heartfelt moments was the mass celebrated by the Bishop of Mallorca, Sebastià Taltavull. This year, a charitable food offering—replacing the traditional floral tribute—was made to benefit the Food Bank, as a gesture of collective solidarity. The day concluded with a communal lunch.
