The first Direct Producers’ Market will take place during the 23rd Sant Jordi Fira del Caragol in Palma on May 17 and 18. The event aims to bring local farmers, who are part of the direct sales network in the Balearic Islands, closer to consumers. A total of eight direct-sale operators from Mallorca and Menorca will participate.
The Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Natural Environment, Joan Simonet, emphasized the importance of the initiative:
“With this market, we want to bring the direct sales network closer to consumers and highlight the value of the work our farmers do, as well as the high quality of the products they produce directly on their farms.”

Joan Llabrés, Director General of Agri-Food Quality and Local Products, added:
“One of the main advantages of direct sales is the absence of intermediaries, which allows for a more personal connection between producers and consumers. This model also promotes the consumption of fresh, local food.”
Participating producers from Mallorca and Menorca include:
- 7103 Petit Celler
- Es Gallicant
- Hort de Sa Vall
- S’Hort de Can Gal·leri (Formatges Sa Vinya)
- S’Hort de Can Gall
- Formatges Es Tonedor – Biniserraia
- S’Ullestrar Ciutadella
- Torretrencadeta
Each vendor will showcase a variety of products such as wines, vermouths, sangrias, sausages, jams, cheeses, fruits, vegetables, and traditional sobrasadas.
In addition to the eight producer stands, the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Natural Environment will host an information booth. This space will provide visitors with general information about the direct sales network, including a map of the 78 farms across the Balearic Islands that are part of the initiative, along with their sales points.
