Director General Maria Isabel Salas Attends Medal Ceremony of the 10th Edition of BalearSkills

Today, the Peguera Auditorium hosted the closing ceremony of the 10th edition of the BalearSkills Vocational Training competition, which brought together 114 students from 41 educational institutions across the Balearic Islands.

The Director General for Vocational Training and Educational Planning attended the event, Maria Isabel Salas, and the Deputy Mayor of Calvià, Isabel Bonet. During the ceremony, gold medals were awarded to the 22 winners in the various skill categories. These students will go on to represent the Balearic Islands in the upcoming SpainSkills competition, to be held in Madrid next year. Silver and bronze medals were also awarded to the second and third-place finishers in each category.

Today’s event was attended by this year’s participants and their instructors, as well as the competition coordinators and representatives from partnering companies. The Director General highlighted the value of this competition as a platform to showcase the talent of vocational training students, emphasising the high level of excellence demonstrated during the trials. She also reiterated the Ministry’s commitment to promoting and strengthening vocational training as a key educational pathway for the future of young people.

The BalearSkills 2025 competition began on May 5 and concluded this past Wednesday. The contests took place across multiple venues, including CIFP Pau Casesnoves in Inca, CIFP Joan Taix in Sa Pobla, CIFP Borja Moll in Palma, CIFP Politècnic de Llevant in Manacor, Canal Salat Multifunctional Hall in Ciutadella, and CIFP Juníper Serra in Palma.

  • Floristry: Natalia Martínez Fernández (IES Pasqual Calbó)
  • Hairdressing: Dayana Rayó Bermudo (CIFP Francesc de Borja Moll)
  • Beauty Therapy: Laura Salas Florit (CIFP Joan Taix)
