The SAD forms part of the Government’s deinstitutionalisation objectives.
The Consell de Govern has authorised the Ministry of Families and Social Affairs to sign an agreement with the Island Council of Formentera for the management of the Home Help Service (SAD) for people in situations of dependency during the years 2025 to 2027. The agreement also includes the possibility of a further three-year extension.

The Home Help Service with the Island Council of Formentera is Extended from 2025 to 2027
€187,470 Will Be Allocated for 9,000 Hours of Service
According to this agreement, the Ministry will provide €187,470 to cover the cost of 9,000 hours of home help service between January 1, 2025, and December 31, 2027. The funding is broken down as follows:
- €41,660 for 2,000 hours of SAD from January to August 2025
- €62,490 for 3,000 hours from September 2025 to August 2026
- €62,490 for 3,000 hours from September 2026 to August 2027
- €20,830 for 1,000 hours from September to December 2027
The Home Help Service aligns with the Government’s deinstitutionalisation strategy. It involves interventions carried out in the user’s home, aimed at providing personal care, punctual and/or urgent assistance, household support, and social assistance to individuals or families facing a lack of personal autonomy, developmental challenges, or specific family issues that prevent them from carrying out everyday activities.
