15/05/2025. The Inca City Council has begun comprehensive improvement works on Sant Bartomeu Street. This initiative is part of a broader project to install a new potable water pipeline aimed at sectorizing the ring in the old town area, and includes resurfacing works on Sant Francesc and Sant Bartomeu streets.

Inca City Council Begins Improvement Works on Sant Bartomeu Street

“We continue working decisively and consistently to improve the old town, making it more accessible, safe, and pleasant for residents and visitors alike,” said Virgilio Moreno, Mayor of Inca.

Moreno also highlighted, “In recent years, we have prioritised investments in the water cycle to improve the municipal network. This is another step forward in optimising the service and managing such a scarce and vital resource as water more efficiently.”

The project includes the replacement of the existing central drainage grille with a new stormwater collection system using targeted drains, which will improve drainage capacity and reduce maintenance issues. Additionally, the road surface will be renewed and sidewalks repaired, with all deteriorated bollards removed and damaged areas restored using irregular marès stone, in keeping with the surrounding environment.

This intervention also involves resurfacing with polished asphalt and installing a new central stone channel to ensure a non-slip finish that meets current safety and accessibility standards.

The total budget for the project is €457,328.41, and also includes the upcoming works on Sant Francesc Street, which will begin once the improvements on Sant Bartomeu Street are completed.
