“It is important to be close to the people and to understand first-hand how they experience these trips. This program not only offers culture but also fosters social interaction, emotional well-being, and health. Its success motivates us to continue working so that the elderly of Mallorca have opportunities to enjoy their time and stay active,” said the minister.

The third group’s program runs from May 20 to 23 and is part of a broader initiative involving 216 seniors over the age of 60, divided into four groups. In addition to Ciutadella, the itinerary includes visits to the Es Grau wetlands, the Favàritx lighthouse, the naveta of Es Tudons, Fornells, the Cavalleria lighthouse, Mount Toro, the La Mola fortress, and Maó.

This new program, launched this year by the Consell de Mallorca, will conclude with the fourth and final group travelling from May 27 to 30. The trip is part of the island’s policies for older adults, aiming to promote active ageing. It aligns with other initiatives such as hotel stays, the Line Dancing Day, the Seniors’ Fair, and choir gatherings.
