Seventeen Family and Community Nursing Residents Complete Their Training in Mallorca
Over a two-year training period, the residents have acquired competencies as specialist nurses in family and community care through a rigorous training program. This included clinical rotations in various settings such as health centres and hospitals, mental health units, the Directorate General of Public Health, emergency services (SAMU 061), palliative care units, paediatrics, and women’s health units, among others.
In addition, they completed a theoretical-practical program covering competencies in research, communication, professional ethics, health education, and community care, aimed at providing users and the wider community with the highest possible standards of quality and safety in care.
The Multiprofessional Teaching Unit for Family and Community Care in Primary Care Mallorca was accredited by the Ministry of Health in 2011 to train specialists in family and community nursing.
Since then, it has progressively increased its teaching capacity, reaching its maximum accredited intake of twenty-four eligible places for the year 2026.
