Alejandro Sáenz de San Pedro, Minister of Business, Employment and Energy, stated:

“We have been in contact with local trade associations to launch this initiative and bring commerce closer to citizens. With this voucher campaign, we aim to strengthen ties with local businesses because together, we grow our economy and our communities.”

The campaign launch event included the participation of José Antonio Caldés, Director-General for Business, Self-Employment and Commerce; key representatives from major trade associations such as Joana Manresa, Chair of the Domestic Trade Commission of the Mallorca Chamber of Commerce; Antonio Vilella Paredes, Secretary General of AFEDECO; Mateo Cunill from PIMECO; and Guadalupe Ferrer, Palma City Councillor for Commerce.

Mallorca has the highest number of participating businesses (882), followed by Menorca (158), Ibiza (61), and Formentera (11).

The goal of the “Bonos de Comercio de las Illes Balears” campaign is to strengthen the retail sector of the Balearic Islands’ autonomous community, especially focusing on self-employed workers, micro-enterprises, and small businesses — ultimately supporting both the local business fabric and the general public.

The campaign begins with the opening of each shop, and vouchers are applied at the moment of purchase. By presenting their ID, customers can receive a €15 discount for every €30 spent. For example, if someone buys a sweater for €45, they would pay only €30. Or if they use multiple vouchers for a €150 pair of glasses, they would pay just €90.
