The Consell Insular Grants €51,000 to the Teatre Principal de Maó Foundation

The Board of Trustees is the highest governing and representative body of the Foundation. It is responsible for ensuring the fulfilment of the Foundation’s goals, managing its assets and rights, and maximising their performance and usefulness.

With this contribution, the Consell Insular aims to support the achievement of the general objectives established in the management framework since 2023, such as: offering a cultural program that contributes to societal and cultural development; promoting the professionalization of artists; attracting new audiences; building loyalty among existing audiences; and increasing audience numbers. It also supports the specific strategic objectives defined for 2025, including:

  • Improving and replacing stage equipment, such as:
    • Installing two lifeline units equipped with retractable fall arrest devices.
    • Applying corrective measures to the fire curtain (replacing backup batteries, power supply, and the light and/or sound alert system).
    • Making corrections to the acoustic shell.
    • Applying a corrective measure to the main stage lamp (installing a steel cable with a quick-assembly and disassembly system).
  • Conducting a sustainability study, including updates to theatre usage fees and other usage conditions.

Additionally, the artistic and operational direction for 2025 is based on the aim of offering a generalist and plural cultural program, while also being avant-garde and distinctive. The emphasis will be on artistic excellence while maintaining social and territorial commitments, thereby contributing to the creative and productive growth of the island’s artistic sector.
