The service will be activated starting June 23, coinciding with the Sant Joan celebrations

On Monday, June 2, 2025, the Executive Council of the Consell Insular de Menorca approved the awarding of the public transport service contract for the Jaleo Bus.

The Procurement Board unanimously agreed to propose awarding the contract to Menorca Bus SL, the only bidder and thus the highest-rated based on the evaluation criteria and administrative terms outlined in the contract documentation.

Jaleo Bus Contract Awarded for Menorca’s Local Festivities

Menorca Bus SL submitted all the required documentation within the deadline via the Public Sector Procurement Platform. The contract is awarded for a maximum total expenditure of €687,935.26 (VAT included at 21%) for a duration of two years.

As a result, the Department of Mobility will activate the Jaleo Bus service in the early hours of June 23, in time for the Sant Joan festivities in Ciutadella, marking the start of Menorca’s summer patron saint festivals. The service will provide safe and accessible public transport for residents and visitors attending the island’s traditional celebrations.

The Minister of Mobility, Juan Manuel Delgado, highlighted that this is the first time since 2019 that the full contracting process has been completed on time and the service has not been declared void.
