The exhibition will be open until June 28, from Tuesday to Friday between 6:00 p.m. and 9:30 p.m., and on Saturdays from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. The inauguration takes place today at 7:00 p.m.

This year marks the eighth edition of the project, with poetry chosen as the thematic core under the title “Les poesies dels baleàrics.”

This annual cultural event has become a key meeting point for artists from different Mediterranean regions, working together under a shared theme.

This edition features fifteen artists from the Balearic Islands, Alicante, the Valencian Community, and the autonomous city of Ceuta.

Each artist has created a work inspired by a chosen poem, establishing a dialogue between word and image. The media used include painting, photography, textile art, and sculpture, offering a unique and enriching interpretation of poetry.

In “Les poesies dels baleàrics”, poetry transcends the literary sphere to become a source of emotion, reflection, and visual expression. Verses take on form, color, and texture through the eyes of artists who interpret and reinterpret poetic texts using their own artistic language. In this way, the written word inspires visual art, which in turn expands and transforms the original meaning of the poems.

The exhibition highlights the shared power of poetry and art to stir emotions and provoke thought, offering a new lens through which to view the world. This union of expressive forms enriches the project and invites the public to engage deeply and emotionally with the works.

Moreover, the initiative celebrates the cultural and linguistic richness of the Mediterranean, reflected in every poem and artwork. The collaboration between the Directorate General of Culture, the Art amb B Association, and the Fundació Baleària has been key in promoting cultural exchange among regions connected by Baleària’s maritime routes.
