The Ministry of Education Awards Construction of the New CEIP of Santa Eulària for €9.5 Million
The construction has been commissioned to the joint venture Desarrolla Obras y Servicios SL & Mayfra Obras y Servicios SL, with an estimated completion period of 18 months. The contract includes all the necessary teaching, sports, and service facilities for the center to open its doors for the 2026–2027 school year.
The project envisions a two-line infant and primary building (6 classrooms for pre-primary and 12 for primary), plus a UEECO classroom (special education), with capacity for 450 students and 7 special education places. The main classroom block will have a ground floor and two upper floors, with classrooms oriented to the southeast and complementary spaces, services, and facilities to the northwest.
Perpendicularly, there will be an administration block, a dining room with a kitchen, and a gymnasium. This layout creates two pedestrian corridors: a main axis linking the entrance porch to the primary schoolyard and a secondary hallway. The southeast façade will include three porches designated for the pre-primary courtyard, improving solar protection and enabling year-round recreational use.
Improving educational facilities on the island of Ibiza is a priority for the Ministry of Education and Universities. The Investment Plan foresees the construction of 13 new schools and the expansion or renovation of 24 others over the next ten years.
This initiative is part of the “Illes en transformació” program, launched by the Government of the Balearic Islands to modernise and enhance public infrastructure, with special attention to educational facilities.
