Minister Vera Presents Pioneering Integration of Educational Psychologists in Schools of the Balearic Islands at the VII General Psychology Convention in Pamplona

Minister Vera took part in the panel on Educational Psychology, alongside Eduardo Fonseca-Pedrera, Professor of Psychology at the University of La Rioja, and Pilar Calvo, Dean of the Official College of Psychologists of La Rioja. In his speech, Vera emphasised that this initiative, developed in collaboration with the Official College of Psychologists of the Balearic Islands—aims to improve comprehensive support for students by establishing an effective bridge between the educational and healthcare systems.

“Mental health is a priority for the Government of the Balearic Islands. The integration of educational psychologists not only strengthens learning but also ensures the emotional well-being of our students,” said the minister.

This measure was launched in September 2024, at the start of the 2024–2025 academic year, with the deployment of 96 educational psychologists to public secondary schools across the Balearic Islands. It represents a paradigm shift in the way education is understood, placing mental health at the center as a key factor for both academic success and personal development.
