On Friday, June 20 at 7:00 p.m., at Passeig del Born, the CSMIB Big Band, conducted by pianist and arranger Ramon Escalé, will present the concert “Gospel Celebration”, featuring a program dedicated to gospel music and its fusion with jazz. Around 70 singers will participate, including students of Jazz/Modern Voice, Classical Voice, the General Choir and Pedagogy Choir of the CSMIB, as well as the Youth Choir of Juventudes Musicales, the UIB Choir, and the Coral S’Aula de Música from Felanitx, all coordinated by professor Margalida Ripoll.

On Saturday, June 21 at 9:00 p.m., the CSMIB Symphony Orchestra will perform under the baton of Maestro Christian Schumann. The program will feature Henri Tomasi’s Concerto for Alto Saxophone, with saxophonist Paula González —winner of the CSMIB Soloist Competition— as soloist, and Gustav Mahler’s Symphony No. 4, with soprano Raquel Ribas, a student at the conservatory.

Admission to both concerts is free. For the Big Band concert, access is open and does not require prior booking. For the Symphony Orchestra concert, advance reservation is required through the conservatory’s website: www.csmib.org

With this 3rd Stage, CSMIB brings to a close an intense and enriching academic year, showcasing the talent, effort, and dedication of its students and faculty, and further consolidating its role as a leading institution for advanced musical education in the Balearic Islands.
