The aid is intended to support activities that broadly promote scientific culture among the general public. For the first time, the funding will also cover training activities in science communication for researchers, as well as studies on public science communication and the public perception of science in the Balearic Islands.

The maximum amount per project is €35,000. This is an open call in which applications will be evaluated individually and awarded until the available funds are exhausted. The application period begins on Friday, June 20, and ends on June 15, 2026. Applications must be submitted via the electronic office (procedure code: DIV25).

This funding initiative is part of the Ciència Compartida program, managed by the Directorate General for Universities, Research, and Higher Artistic Education. The program, financed by the Sustainable Tourism Tax, aims to enhance the social presence of science by helping research centres and scientists bring their work closer to the public. In addition to this line of grants, the program includes other initiatives such as European Researchers’ Night and the celebration of February 11th – International Day of Women and Girls in Science.
