The flat fare in Mallorca will be €1.20 per kilometre on weekdays, €2.50 for the base fare, and €4.65 for airport or port supplements.
The Government of the Balearic Islands, through the Directorate General of Mobility, has established a unified urban taxi fare aimed at encouraging joint service agreements between municipalities.
Among other aspects, the flat or reference fare in Mallorca is set at €1.20 per kilometre on weekdays, €2.50 for the base fare (flag drop), and €4.65 as a supplement for services to or from the airport or port.
The Minister of Housing, Territory, and Mobility, José Luis Mateo, emphasized that this measure “responds to a widespread demand from the taxi sector” and added that it will make the service “more transparent and simpler for users, as it provides a clearly defined and unified fare that does not vary depending on the area or municipality where the service is provided.”
The resolution, which will be published this coming Saturday in the BOIB (Official Gazette of the Balearic Islands), has been approved by the Commission on Water and Urban Transport Prices. It is the result of a consultation process involving 13 representative entities from the taxi sector, consumer associations, and civil society.
According to the text, any municipality in Mallorca that offers joint taxi services with others may automatically adopt the unified fare, provided it is approved by the municipal council, since local councils are responsible for urban taxi transport.
Mateo highlighted that this measure is part of the administrative simplification strategy being promoted by the Government of the Balearic Islands. The Governor will be responsible for periodically reviewing the flat fare, which will streamline the tariff review process for municipalities.

The Government Establishes a Flat Taxi Fare in Mallorca to Promote Joint Service Agreements Between Municipalities
Taxi Fare Decree
The flat fare has been made possible thanks to a provision introduced in the Taxi Fare Decree, which came into effect on May 25, 2025, following approval by the Balearic Land Transport Council in March and ratification by the Consell de Govern.
The public information period for the decree began in January. During this time, a participatory process and dialogue were conducted with island councils, municipalities, and sector entities.
The decree establishes a model for updating both urban and interurban taxi fares based on defined parameters and clear criteria to reflect the actual costs of the service.
