Between January 1 and June 30, 2025, the Palau del Consell de Mallorca welcomed a total of 4,925 visitors. This figure marks an all-time high and confirms the growing public interest in learning about the institutional functions and heritage of the Consell. Of these visitors, 3,568 were schoolchildren and 1,357 were adults who participated in one of the 144 guided tours organised during this period.

One of the most notable activities has been the series of lectures on air-raid shelters, delivered by historian Tomeu Fiol Coll, aimed at high school students. A total of 15 lectures were held in the plenary hall of the Palau and included a visit to the historic air-raid shelter.

The main groups participating in the visits included educational centres from across Mallorca—particularly 5th and 6th grade primary students and 9th grade (3rd ESO) secondary students—as well as senior citizen associations and various social organizations such as AMADIP, Casal Petit, Projecte Naüm, UCR, SAD Comunitari i Preventiu, day centres, Fundació Patronat Obrer, OFIM Palma, and neighbourhood centres, among others. The tours were conducted primarily in Catalan, Spanish, and English and were adapted to the specific needs of each group.

The President of the Consell de Mallorca, Llorenç Galmés, emphasised: “The Palau is the home of all Mallorcans, and opening its doors is a way to bring the institution closer to the people. Learning about its history and operations helps us better understand the role of the Consell in the daily life of the island.”

The guided tour of the Palau lasts approximately one hour and includes iconic spaces such as the main entrance and grand staircase, the noble floor, the audience chamber, and the plenary hall. One of the most popular features among visitors is the old air-raid shelter located in the basement, which forms part of the historical heritage restored and valued by the institution.

Throughout 2024, Palau received 6,561 visitors (3,481 schoolchildren and 3,080 adults) across 170 guided tours. The high turnout in just the first half of 2025 highlights a growing interest in discovering the institutional and historical heritage of the Consell de Mallorca.
