The Executive Council of the Consell Insular de Menorca has approved the guidelines and call for applications to once again select students who will reside at the Casa de Menorca in Barcelona for the 2025/26 academic year.

Applications Now Open to Submit Documentation for Residency at the Casa de Menorca in Barcelona

The purpose of this initiative is to regulate access to available shared accommodation at the Casa de Menorca in Barcelona, specifically for students from Menorca who wish to pursue their studies in the city. The goal is to ensure that no student with the will and ability to study is prevented from doing so due to financial hardship, particularly for programs not available on the island of Menorca.

“These programs aim to support the personal and academic development of students from Menorca,” said Joan Pons, Councillor for Culture, Education, Youth, and Sports.

For the upcoming academic year, 11 accommodation spots are available. Eligible applicants must be registered residents of any municipality in Menorca and must be pursuing or beginning university studies, vocational training, official studies lasting longer than one academic year, or studies at institutions of recognised prestige that are not offered on the island but are available in Barcelona.

Applicants must meet several eligibility requirements, and the selection will be based on a combined financial and academic score according to the criteria published in the Official Gazette of the Balearic Islands (BOIB).

The residency period runs from September 1 to August 31, and the monthly fee is €190. The application deadline is July 10, 2025. Once a spot is awarded, the student must confirm acceptance by August 15, 2025, and submit proof of enrollment in their academic program.
