With the gradual implementation of this program, the focus is on comprehensive training that supports both academic and artistic development of students.
The Ministry of Education and Universities will begin the progressive implementation of the Integrated Education Program (PEI) at the Professional Conservatory of Music and Dance of Ibiza and Formentera starting in the 2025–2026 academic year. Education Promotes the Integration of the Integrated Education Program at the Professional Conservatory of Music and Dance of Ibiza and Formentera
Juan Álvarez, the Territorial Director of Education in Ibiza and Formentera, met with students’ families to present the details of the project. During the meeting, he emphasised the importance of recognising music and dance as essential disciplines for the personal, emotional, and intellectual development of young people. He also noted that integrating secondary education with conservatory studies in the same physical space will optimise resources, improve time management, and facilitate the balance between academic and artistic training.
For the upcoming school year, a dedicated classroom will be set up within the Conservatory’s facilities for 30 first-year secondary students (1st ESO). This classroom will be equipped with the necessary teaching staff to ensure a high-quality education, as well as appropriate spaces for rest and recreation, providing a complete, balanced, and stimulating educational environment.
The integration of secondary and artistic high school studies will take place gradually over the coming academic years, consolidating a project designed to respond to the real needs of young artistic talents in the Balearic Islands.
With this initiative, the Ministry of Education and Universities reaffirms its commitment to promoting artistic talent and combating dropout rates in formal artistic education, offering an educational alternative that recognises, supports, and nurtures students’ skills and interests.
