Mallorcan Youth Can Now Enjoy Free Summer Water Activities Organized by the Consell de Mallorca

The Consell de Mallorca, through its Island Sports Directorate, has launched the 2025 edition of its “Summer Activities for Youth” program, offering teenagers and young people aged 14 and over a selection of nine sports experiences. These half-day activities combine sea sports, nature, and adventure, and are conducted by certified and professional instructors. Activities must be requested as a group via the participating municipalities.

The 2025 program includes:

  • Scuba diving introductions
  • Water biking
  • Dragon boating
  • Coasteering (cliffside hiking)
  • Canoeing
  • Paddle surfing and big paddle surf
  • Hiking
  • Snorkeling

The initiative aims to both support local councils in promoting sport among the population and encourage young people to participate by requesting the activities through their municipalities as social meetups.

The Second Vice President and Councillor for Environment, Rural Affairs and Sports, Pedro Bestard, and the Island Sports Director, Toni Prats, presented the initiative at the Sant Ferran sports complex. Bestard highlighted:

“The Consell will invest €180,000 in activities aimed at young people and teenagers—an important group that lacks options but is eager to do sports with friends. These are the very same activities that young people ask for in our surveys.”

The program is expected to reach over 3,000 young people across Mallorca during summer 2025.
