The Museu del Calçat i de la Indústria in Inca unveiled one of the most iconic pieces by renowned Mallorcan designer Miguel Adrover: the Fuck You Shoes. The piece will be accompanied by a text written by fellow designer Àlex Sobrón, which explains its meaning and significance as a provocative and socially engaged artwork.
The Fuck You Shoes, created in 2012, were originally conceived as a political statement on the runways of New York and remain just as relevant today. Sobrón notes that “Adrover challenges global power structures through an everyday object: a shoe that becomes a symbol of resistance. It is a call against colonialism, environmental destruction, and war—the voice of those who have been silenced.”

The Museu del Calçat i de la Indústria in Inca Exhibits Miguel Adrover’s “Fuck You Shoes”
By exhibiting this key work by Adrover—an internationally recognised figure in fashion—the Museu del Calçat i de la Indústria continues to foster a dialogue between traditional shoemaking, design, and contemporary art. It is worth noting that the piece was created in collaboration with BALLCO, a shoemaking company based in Inca, establishing a direct link between artistic expression and the region’s industrial heritage. This is a clear example of how local creativity can transcend borders.
In addition to the interplay between art and tradition, the Fuck You Shoes reinvent fashion and question its values from a modern, critical perspective. For this reason, the exhibition is part of the Orgullosament Inca cultural program, promoted by the Inca City Council, reinforcing the museum’s commitment to social issues and avant-garde art.
The Fuck You Shoes will be on display at the museum until September 30, during regular opening hours.
