The Government Authorizes the Tender for the Construction Works of the New Health Center in Artà

It is worth recalling that the Health Service previously terminated the initial contract early due to the contractor’s non-compliance, after only 30% of the work had been completed — including the sanitary slab of the ground floor and the semi-basement.

The new Nuredduna Health Center and Continuous Care Point (PAC) in Artà will triple the size of the current facility and improve both healthcare quality and accessibility. The new building, located on a plot donated by the Town Council at the entrance of the town, will be single-story and easily accessible for the elderly and people with reduced mobility.

The new healthcare facility will have an area of 2,024 m² and will increase its number of consultation rooms from 10 to 15: there will be 5 family medicine consultation rooms, 5 nursing rooms, 2 pediatric consultations, 1 pediatric nursing room, and 2 multipurpose rooms.

It will be located next to the na Pati parking lot, on a flat area at the town’s entrance, which will also facilitate vehicle access. Additionally, the construction of a 22-space parking lot and another area for ambulances is planned.

The Nuredduna Health Center belongs to the Artà Basic Health Zone, which also includes the Basic Health Unit of Colònia de Sant Pere. It serves a population of 7,788 residents and has a staff consisting of four family doctors, one emergency doctor, one pediatrician, four nurses, one nursing care technician, one physiotherapist, one midwife, and four administrative staff members. In 2024, these professionals carried out 35,179 family medicine consultations, 28,071 nursing consultations, and 6,234 pediatric consultations. Out of a total of 69,484 consultations, 1,554 were home visits.

This renovation is part of the 2024–2027 Health Service Infrastructure Plan, which includes an investment of €435 million.
