The Inca City Council Grants the Use of the Es Lledoner Building to the Joan XXIII Foundation for the Creation of an Early Care Centre
The signing ceremony was attended by Inca’s mayor, Virgilio Moreno Sarrió, and the president of the Joan XXIII Foundation, Pere Rotger Llabrés, along with other representatives from both institutions. During the event, the mayor stated:
“With this agreement, we are taking another step toward ensuring better care for children and their families from the very beginning. We are committed to high-quality public services and to making municipal spaces available to citizens, in collaboration with socially committed organizations like Joan XXIII.”
Moreno also highlighted:
“Locating this Early Care Center in Es Lledoner restores the building’s role as a social and community hub for the neighborhood and reaffirms the City Council’s commitment to addressing the real needs of our town.”
For his part, the Foundation’s president, Pere Rotger, said:
“Thanks to this institutional collaboration with the City Council, we can continue expanding the services of the Joan XXIII Foundation, thus providing better and more personalized care to our users and their families.”
Rotger also emphasised:
“This new early care service was greatly needed and responds to the needs we identify at Joan XXIII, which we aim to meet with the continued support of society and public institutions.”
The agreement establishes a 30-year concession, with the possibility of renewal by mutual agreement. The building will be used exclusively for activities related to early care, a vital service for people with developmental difficulties or those at risk.
To adapt the space to the centre’s needs, renovation and rehabilitation work are being carried out, with a total estimated cost of €123,890.71, funded jointly. The Inca City Council will cover around €94,000, corresponding to the elevator, access adaptations, utility connections, and 50% of the structure and facade painting. The Foundation will cover the remaining specific works of the centre, which are expected to be completed within approximately 12 months.
This agreement reflects the City Council of Inca’s commitment to strengthening the municipality’s social and health services in collaboration with third-sector entities and to repurposing public spaces for socially beneficial and community-focused purposes.
