XX Edición Enofles – Hello Isabel! Another edition of the Mostra de Vi Casolà is here. How are things going this year?
—Good evening! Yes, everything is almost ready. On July 16, we will once again fill the Parc de Sa Rectoria in Binissalem with wine, friendship, and a sense of community spirit.
XX Edición Enofles– The 20th edition— that’s a lot of wine glasses!
—Absolutely! It’s been twenty years of excitement and hard work fueled by our passion for wine. In 2004, just a year after the confraternity was founded, some members who made homemade wine suggested organising a tasting event to share their wines with fellow enofles and friends. That first year, we had 6 or 7 winemakers, and soon we grew to 14, even reaching 25 some years later. Although the first edition was 22 years ago, this is the 20th celebration, as the event was cancelled for two years due to the pandemic.

XX Edición Enofles– What can we expect from this year’s edition?
—As always, homemade wines are crafted with love and passion by people from all over the island. This year, we’ll have 16 winemakers from Biniali, Biniaraix, Binissalem, Campanet, Felanitx, Manacor, Petra, Pollença, Sa Pobla, Sant Llorenç des Cardassar, Santa Maria, Selva, and Vilafranca de Bonany. There will be red, white, rosé, and even some sparkling wines. It’s a celebration of flavours and a space for sharing experiences.
XX Edición Enofles – And what if someone forgets to bring a wine glass?
—No worries. Glasses will be available at the entrance for €3. But if you bring one from home, even better. Either way, an invitation is required to access the event.
XX Edición Enofles– What makes this edition different from previous years?
—Every year is unique because experienced winemakers mix with new participants—this year, we’ll welcome three newcomers. But this 20th edition is inspiring because we’re celebrating two decades. What started as a family-style gathering has become a must-attend event for wine lovers from across Mallorca. We want to thank the 79 winemakers who have joined us over these 20 years, especially those who have been with us since the beginning. Who knows—maybe someone will surprise us with a vintage wine from those early days!

XX Edición Enofles – And the confraternity is quite a large group, right?
—Yes, we are currently fifty members, which is the maximum allowed by our statutes. Every year, people express interest in joining, but spaces only open up if someone leaves. Candidates must be introduced by a current member and spend some time as “observers” before being officially admitted. A maximum of four new members can join each year.
XX Edición Enofles– Finally, what does “Enofles de la Parra” mean?
—It’s a made-up word! It comes from “enophile,” meaning wine lover, but we wanted to give it a more playful and local twist; thus “, Enofle” was born. We’re the Enofles de la Parra: a group of wine enthusiasts who love to celebrate and promote the culture surrounding this passion.
XX Edición Enofles – Thank you, Isabel, and here’s to many more years of Mostra and great wine!
—Thank you all! And cheers!
