Mallorcan singer-songwriter Tomeu Penya captivated the audience this evening during a new edition of the “Nits d’Estiu a Raixa” (Summer Nights at Raixa) concert series. Performing an emotional and intimate set, Penya offered a heartfelt selection of songs from his vast discography.

The courtyard of the iconic Mallorcan estate was filled with over 300 attendees who enjoyed the concert by the beloved Vilafranca artist. Penya delighted fans with a journey through the most celebrated moments of his musical legacy.

Among the attending dignitaries were Pedro Bestard, Second Vice President and Councillor for Environment, Rural Affairs and Sports; Pilar Amate, Councillor for Economic Promotion and Local Development; Luis Rubí, Island Director of Environment; and Álvaro Roca, Island Director of Economic Promotion, Local Product and Commerce.

Councillor Bestard highlighted Tomeu Penya as “a true icon of our music, culture, and roots; his legendary songs have shaped several generations who continue to enjoy his work.”

As part of this summer’s Raixa concerts, the Department of Economic Promotion and Local Development is supporting local product consumption by offering wine tastings and savoury canapés made with Mallorcan ingredients—a well-received initiative.

Attendees enjoyed a selection of locally made savoury tapas paired with quality wines bearing protected designations of origin and geographic indications from Mallorca, achieving an excellent tasting experience.


Upcoming Concerts at Raixa

This unique initiative to promote Mallorcan products will continue throughout the remainder of the Raixa summer concert series.

  • July 26: Concert by O’Veus, a vocal ensemble of six friends performing a cappella in a dynamic mix of musical styles.
  • August 23: The final concert of the season, performed by the Jove Orquestra Simfònica de Marratxí, conducted by Pep Corbalán. Audiences will be moved by the passion of these talented young musicians aged 15 to 23.
