Education Allocates 92.5% of Vacant Teaching Positions in the First Summer Assignment Round

Allocations by island:

  • Mallorca: 1,536.5 positions filled out of 1,618 available.
  • Eivissa: 503 out of 571.5 positions.
  • Menorca: 178.5 out of 204 positions.
  • Formentera: 59.5 out of 71 positions.

The Ministry views the results of this first round very positively, especially in Eivissa, with 88% coverage, and in Formentera, with 84%.

The remaining 186.5 positions will be offered in the urgent allocation round scheduled for next week, aiming to complete the coverage of all vacancies before the start of the school year.

This first round was conducted following the implementation of several measures to improve the work–life balance of interim teachers. Among these measures is the option for teachers in Mallorca to choose three out of the five zones into which the island has been divided. Additionally, as agreed in the Sectoral Committee, interim teachers who have finished a vacant or temporary position during the 2023–2024 or 2024–2025 school years have priority in applying for a position in the same zone or specialty.

Recognition has also been given to candidates who passed competitive examinations without securing a position, offering them preferential treatment in the new allocations.
