A total of 67 entries are competing for the 2025 Mallorca Craft Awards organised by the Consell de Mallorca. The awards ceremony will be held on October 29 at Es Baluard Museum and will feature a jury made up of master artisans and professionals linked to the craft sector.

Antònia Roca, Vice President of the Consell de Mallorca and Councillor for Culture and Heritage, welcomed the large number of professionals from the island who registered for the awards during July, making this the second most participative edition in the history of the event.

This year, the awards are further consolidated with a record prize fund, twelve categories, and a high-level jury made up of master artisans and leading figures from the sector. The panel will evaluate aspects such as technique, sustainability, creativity, design, and respect for tradition.

The category with the highest number of entries is the Mallorca Craft Award, followed by the Traditional Craft Award and the Craft Design and Innovation Award. Roca also highlighted a record number of entries in the Impulso Award, aimed at students: “This award serves as an entry point for new talent and aims to encourage generational renewal within the craft sector of Mallorca.”

67 Entries Compete for the 2025 Mallorca Craft Awards

Another key innovation in this edition is the division of the Gastronomy Craft Award into two distinct prizes: Short Shelf Life and Long Shelf Life. Both recognise traditional Mallorcan recipes, differentiated by the shelf life of the products, and highlight their quality and authenticity.

“These figures confirm the Mallorca Craft Awards as a key event for the sector. The growing interest each year, especially among young people, demonstrates that Mallorcan crafts have a bright future and that the Consell’s commitment to giving them visibility and support is yielding results,” said the Vice President and Councillor.

With these 67 entries, the last three editions of the Mallorca Craft Awards have attracted a total of 222 submissions, a figure that reflects the sector’s positive reception and growing dynamism. The jury, made up of highly regarded professionals, has already begun the evaluation process. The winners will be announced during the ceremony on October 29.

The 2025 edition will feature two specialised juries to ensure fairness and expertise in selecting the winners: a general jury and a specific jury for the gastronomy categories.

General Jury
The general jury will consist of five renowned professionals from the craft sector:

  • Damià Mulet, master jeweller, winner of the 2025 Design Award and professor at the Escola d’Art i Superior de Disseny de les Illes Balears.
  • Cristina Santandreu, retired technician from the Balearic Regional Development Agency, with an extensive career in the sector.
  • Joan Pere Català, master ceramist with a long-standing career.
  • Tatiana Sarasa, textile dyer artisan and recipient of the 2023 Accésit Award.
  • Araceli Iranzo, llatra (palm weaving) artisan and director of the Escola Artesana, winner of last year’s Promotion Award for her work in training and revitalising the craft.

This jury will evaluate the following categories: Mallorca Craft Award, Traditional Craft Award, Craft Design and Innovation Award, Craft Promotion Award, Artisan Fashion Award, and Impulso Award.

Gastronomy Jury
The gastronomy jury, which this year is split into two categories — Short Shelf Life and Long Shelf Life — is composed of highly recognised professionals from the local gastronomic and artisanal product sector:

  • Koldo Royo, master chef and president of ASCAIB.
  • Xisca Armero, president of the Pla i Llevant Designation of Origin.
