Due to disruptions caused by the construction works, weekend schedules will be applied for two weeks, with an additional three trains running during early morning hours.
Serveis Ferroviaris de Mallorca (SFM) is modifying the service schedules initially planned for August because of construction works on the railway overpass on Greco Street, near Verge de Lluc station. The new schedules will be in effect from Tuesday, August 5, until Sunday, August 17, the end of next week.
Last Friday, August 1, SFM’s summer schedules came into effect, which involve a slight reduction in train frequency to adjust supply to demand. Since last year, these summer schedules have only been applied in August, unlike previous years when they also covered the second half of July.
This year, due to the start of renovation work on the railway overpass on Greco Street, next to Verge de Lluc station, SFM had already introduced slight modifications compared to last year’s summer schedules.

SFM modifies schedules starting and until August 17 due to work on the Verge de Lluc overpass
The work at this point of the railway network requires speed and single-track circulation limitations throughout August between Son Fuster and Polígono de Marratxí stations in both directions. This impacts train circulation, making these schedule changes necessary.
Both on Friday, August 1, and on Monday, August 4, there were service complications, with many train delays and some cancellations, affecting passengers. For this reason, SFM has been forced to modify the schedules to provide a reliable service that adheres to established times and avoids cancellations.
Therefore, starting Tuesday, August 5, and until Sunday, August 17, on weekdays, weekend schedules will apply with additional reinforcement consisting of three extra trains during early morning hours. Weekend schedules remain unchanged.
Service operations during the works
SFM reminds passengers that the service operations at stations where single-track circulation is required remain the same as previously communicated last week.
Throughout August, all arrivals and departures at the following stations: Son Fuster, Son Cladera/Es Vivero, Verge de Lluc, Pont d’Inca, Pont d’Inca Nou, and Polígono de Marratxí will take place from a single platform.
From August 1 to August 17 (inclusive), all train circulation and stops in this section (Son Fuster–Polígono de Marratxí) will take place on Track 2. From August 18 to August 30 (inclusive), the operation will switch, and all circulation and stops at stations in this same section will occur on Track 1.
Renovation works on the Greco Street overpass
Last week, SFM began renovation works on the railway overpass on Greco Street, near Verge de Lluc station. This is a complex yet necessary project that involves replacing the current overpass with a new structure to address deterioration issues and improve both functionality and aesthetics of the underpass below the railway.
The current overpass suffers from deterioration, has very limited clearance, and does not allow safe conditions for vehicle and pedestrian circulation. The construction will resolve these issues by increasing clearance and expanding the lower section, which will feature two vehicle lanes and a sufficiently wide sidewalk.
The project was awarded €889,430.69 (excluding VAT), funded by Insularity Factor funds under the Special Regime of the Balearic Islands. The maximum execution period is six months.
SFM deeply regrets the inconvenience caused to passengers both last Friday and today, Monday, and extends its apologies to everyone affected.
