€4.1 Million Granted to the Consell of Formentera to Address Budget Imbalance in Social Welfare
This subsidy is granted because the funds allocated by the Consell for the 2025 fiscal year are entirely insufficient, creating a budget imbalance that seriously threatens the provision of services to families and minors on the island of Formentera who rely on the resources and services of the Social Welfare Area.
The Consell requested this subsidy because the total operating budget for the Social Welfare Area in 2025 was €906,000, while as of June 30, 2025, the area had already accumulated expenditures totalling €4,782,349.80.
Signing of a Collaboration Agreement
In order to grant this subsidy, the Consell de Govern has also authorised the signing of a collaboration agreement between the Ministry of Families, Social Welfare and Care for Dependency and the Consell Insular of Formentera. This agreement will establish a specific subsidy justification framework under the revised text of the Subsidies Act.
