Applications are now open for the PRD2025 call for proposals for scientific and technological research projects, published yesterday in the Official Gazette of the Balearic Islands (BOIB). The application period will remain open until 1:00 p.m. on October 3, 2025.

With a total budget of €3.9 million, the purpose of the call is to support research projects carried out at non-profit public and private research centres in the Balearic Islands, either individually or in coordinated consortia.

The Ministry of Education and Universities Opens the Application Period for Scientific and Technological Research Projects (PRD2025)

One of the key new features of this edition is a priority funding line of up to €1.5 million, specifically aimed at projects led by young researchers who obtained their PhD from 2015 onwards. Additionally, to facilitate project implementation, an advance payment of 84.6% of the awarded amount will be granted.

This funding represents a 160% increase compared to the 2020–2024 aid program, which supported 16 projects (12 individual and 4 coordinated), with a total investment of €1.5 million, financed through the Sustainable Tourism Tax.
