The Consell de Mallorca, through the Serra de Tramuntana Consortium’s grant programs, will allocate €2,825,000 to support the restoration of ethnological and architectural heritage elements, the conservation of the cultural landscape, and the promotion and maintenance of agricultural and maritime activity.
The subsidy program for private individuals—owners of farms and agricultural holdings located within the UNESCO World Heritage boundaries of the Serra de Tramuntana—is funded with €2,150,000, marking a 51% increase compared to the previous year’s final investment of €1,420,000.

Mallorca Council Allocates Over €2.8 Million to Preserve the Cultural Landscape of the Serra de Tramuntana
The purpose of this funding is to help preserve traditional rural elements such as dry stone walls, terraces, qanats, cisterns, and other features that are key to the Serra de Tramuntana’s World Heritage status. This year’s call also includes updated reimbursement rates. For instance, the rate for repairing a dry stone wall has been raised from €83/m² to €109.02/m².
Toni Fuster, Councillor for the Presidency, stated:
“The Serra de Tramuntana is a clear priority for this legislature. We’re showing our commitment by increasing the funding of these grants to protect one of the island’s greatest treasures.”
Another change this year involves the execution period, which has been extended to February 28, 2026, and the submission deadline for justification documents is extended to March 31, 2026.
Grants to Encourage Agricultural Activity
The grant program for cooperatives, fishing guilds, regulatory councils, and agroecological producer associations operating within the Serra de Tramuntana World Heritage site has also seen a 12.5% increase, rising from €600,000 to €675,000.
Eligible expenses include costs related to maintaining agricultural, livestock, forestry, or maritime activity that supports the values behind the Serra’s World Heritage designation. The goal is to boost local production and prevent land abandonment, which would negatively impact the cultural landscape.
Funded actions must be carried out during 2025, with the deadline for submitting the final report set for January 30, 2026.
The increased budget is exclusively allocated to long-term or investment-related expenses, such as machinery purchases, restoration of heritage elements, or the promotion and sale of agricultural or fishing products.
The application period runs from August 8 to Monday, September 8, inclusive. Grants for both private individuals and cooperatives will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis, until the funds are exhausted. The full application process is available through the electronic headquarters of the Serra de Tramuntana Consortium.
