Ecological Transition Allocates €148 Million to 199 Renewable Energy Projects with Storage
The selected projects will provide 299.6 MW of generation capacity and 351.6 MWh of storage, distributed across Spain, with the largest share in Catalonia, Valencia, Castilla y León, and Andalusia.
Key highlights include:
- Agrivoltaics with storage: 62 projects (€77.1M), many in tree crops such as olive groves and orchards.
- Floating photovoltaics: 11 projects (€10.1M), mainly on irrigation ponds.
- Integration into infrastructure: 27 projects (€23.4M), in facilities such as water treatment plants and service areas.
- Collective self-consumption for vulnerable users: 67 projects (€18.2M), benefiting around 4,000 households.
- Renewable heat pumps: 32 projects (€19.6M) to electrify thermal processes.
All initiatives must comply with the “do no significant harm” principle required by Next Generation EU funds.
