This service, which will run from 2025 to 2028, has a total investment of €3,928,304.50 (VAT exempt) and will be managed by four specialised entities:

  • Fundació Estel de Llevant: 12 places – €942,793.08
  • Fundació Es Garrover: 14 places – €1,099,925.26
  • GREC: 6 places – €471,396.54

A dignified, safe, and adapted residential space

Councillor Fernández stressed that “this provision responds to one of the most important needs of the sector and its organisations: to have a dignified, safe, and adapted residential space.”

These homes differ from supervised housing, as they are aimed at people with a diagnosis of severe mental disorder who are ready to take a further step in their empowerment process, seeking a greater degree of personal autonomy. “In this way, we are not only improving the quality of life of these individuals, but also facilitating their integration and social inclusion, promoting their autonomy and well-being,” she added.

The shared apartments are intended for people with a diagnosis of severe mental disorder who require specialised technical support and coverage of basic needs such as housing and food. The aim is to foster their independence and ensure proper socio-community integration.

This new contracted service is being incorporated into the public social services and mental health network, complementing the basic portfolio of services with a highly demanded resource. The Ministry thus reaffirms its commitment to community-based care and comprehensive support for people with mental health issues.

In addition to the councillor and the director general, those attending included: Guillem Febrer, manager of Estel de Llevant; Gori Molina, manager of Fundació Es Garrover; Carmen de Lis, Housing Director at Associació Gira-Sol; and Carme Pujol, Technical Programme Director at GREC Mallorca.
