One vehicle will be assigned to the Maó Fire Station and the other to the Ciutadella Fire Station
The Menorca Island Council has awarded INCIPRESA S.A.U. the contract to supply two fully equipped Light Urban Fire Engines (BUL) for the Fire Prevention, Extinction and Rescue Service (SPEIS). The contract, valued at €762,200 excluding VAT (€922,262 including VAT), was granted after the company submitted the highest-rated bid under the established tender criteria.
These new vehicles will enhance the operational capacity of the SPEIS, which covers not only fire suppression but also rescue operations, hazard prevention, emergency assistance, and responses to flooding and traffic incidents.

Menorca Island Council Acquires Two New Light Urban Fire Engines to Boost Fire Service Response Capabilities
The current fleet is significantly outdated, resulting in high repair costs and periods of downtime that compromise service delivery. The addition of these light, highly manoeuvrable vehicles will allow faster response times and easier access to narrow urban streets.
Specifically, the new Ciutadella unit will replace a 1989 vehicle that was decommissioned in 2022 due to the lack of available spare parts. The Maó unit will replace the current 1990 vehicle, whose size and technical limitations hinder operations in areas with restricted street width.
With this investment, the Menorca Island Council reaffirms its commitment to public safety and environmental protection by modernising its fleet to ensure an effective response tailored to the island’s current needs.
