Tosca and La voix humaine, part of the 40th opera season, will also be staged at the Teatre des Born.

The Teatre Principal of Palma, in line with its new strategic approach to collaboration with public performing arts venues in the Balearic Islands, will contribute to the 3rd Opera Season of the Teatre des Born in Ciutadella, Menorca, by presenting the productions Tosca and La voix humaine.

  • Tosca, by Giacomo Puccini, in a production by the Teatro Massimo of Palermo, will be performed at the Teatre Principal of Palma on October 22, 24, and 26, and later at the Teatre des Born in Ciutadella on October 31 and November 2. One of the highlights of Tosca will be the performance of the Menorcan baritone Simón Orfila in the role of Scarpia, one of the most iconic roles in opera history and a part that, for decades, was a hallmark of Joan Pons, the world-renowned baritone from Ciutadella.
  • La voix humaine will be performed on April 24 and 25 at the Teatre Principal of Palma and will then arrive at the Teatre des Born in Ciutadella on May 16. This is a new production by the Teatre Principal of Palma, directed by Roberto G. Alonso, with Mallorcan Gemma Camps as musical director and soprano Marga Cloquell as the soloist.
