The Department of Labour, Public Function and Social Dialogue highlights the success of the model implemented in January 2025.
The system, with 49 active pools, simplifies procedures and centralises access to temporary job offers through the Opposition Portal.
As of August 21, a total of 5,738 people have registered in the single and permanent job pools of the Autonomous Community of the Balearic Islands, launched in January 2025 by the Department of Labour, Public Function and Social Dialogue. In just a few months, 49 active pools have been established, a result that confirms the success of the initiative and its positive reception among citizens.

More than 5,700 people are already part of the CAIB single pools
This model replaces the multiple pools that previously existed, which often generated delays and complexity, with a single pool for each body or professional category (engineering, architecture, social work, IT, assistants, etc.). The key innovation is that it allows people who are not career civil servants to access temporary jobs within the Administration, covering specific needs and creating new job opportunities for citizens. This makes it possible to speed up the coverage of temporary vacancies and ensure that public services always have the staff they need.
Registration is permanently open and carried out online through the Opposition Portal, where applicants can also consult score lists. The system automatically prioritises applicants who have passed civil service exams without obtaining a permanent position, thus facilitating access to public service and promoting generational renewal. If a pool is exhausted or no candidates are available to fill the offered positions, the system provides for its opening to the general public, so that any person meeting the requirements may apply and access these temporary positions. In fact, in 28 of these calls, people who had not previously taken part in selection processes have already joined.
To participate, candidates must meet the qualification requirements and the corresponding Catalan language level (usually B2 for various technical bodies and C1 for general bodies). The pools make it possible to cover vacancies, substitutions, reduced working hours, temporary programs, and urgent or extraordinary needs (up to 9 months within 18 months), ensuring that public services operate with greater agility, transparency, and continuity.
