Eivissa Island Council renews agreement with UCABAL to strengthen agricultural advisory services with €120,000

Under this agreement, UCABAL will maintain a specialized technical team that guides compliance, environmental best practices, responsible use of phytosanitary products, digital tools, and competitiveness improvement. It will also support farmers and cooperatives in applying for agricultural and livestock subsidies offered by the Council.

The service will continue to promote key initiatives, including the implementation of digital field notebooks, the installation of agrometeorological stations, support for young farmers entering the sector, cooperation and mergers between cooperatives, and the promotion of specialised training and digitalisation in the agri-food sector.

During the signing, Vicent Marí stressed that this agreement “strengthens a very positive line of work that continues to address the environmental, regulatory, and market challenges facing Eivissa’s agriculture.”

For her part, Jerònima Bonafé emphasised that the renewal is “essential to guarantee technical and training support, crucial for the modernisation of the agricultural sector through digitalisation and adaptation to the EU’s Common Agricultural Policy.”

The agreement, valid throughout 2025, secures the continuity of a service that reaches all cooperatives and farms on the island.
