Next Wednesday, September 3rd, at 12:30 p.m., the Creative Painting Workshop Exhibition will be inaugurated at the Claustre de Sant Domingo in Inca, organised by UCR Inca with the collaboration of the Inca City Council and Son Espases University Hospital.
This creative project is born from the connection between art and mental health, presenting painting as a therapeutic tool for people with severe mental disorders (SMD). It provides a space of freedom and creativity to channel emotions and feelings that are often difficult to verbalise, such as depression and anxiety, thus helping to identify and manage them in a safe environment.

Creative Painting Exhibition in Inca
According to the UCR Inca team, “hope and resilience can blossom in people with SMD. What better process than creation and the visualisation of ourselves through artistic expression, with each individual’s abilities reflected in a painting, a sketch, a plate, or even a simple sheet of paper, to seek —and perhaps find— beauty around us and a meaning to life.”
The artworks on display are the result of a year of collective and personal work and will be open to the public until the end of September. The inauguration is free and open to everyone, aiming to be a space for encounter, awareness, and recognition of the participants who made this workshop possible, showing that art is also a path toward healing and social inclusion.
