The Balearic School of Public Administration (EBAP) has confirmed that the visual memory section of the psychometric test for the unified selection process of local police officers will be repeated in October.

This decision follows the review of appeals submitted by candidates and the technical report issued by experts from the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB), which identified psychometric shortcomings in that specific section of the test taken on June 28. The issue affects only one of the six assessed areas, with the remaining dimensions remaining valid.

EBAP announces partial retake of the psychometric test for the 2025 unified local police recruitment process

The retake will be carried out simultaneously for all candidates from Mallorca, Menorca, and Ibiza, under a standardised protocol designed to ensure fairness and equal opportunities. The updated results will be added to the provisional list of successful and unsuccessful candidates, along with corrections of material errors and the psychometric tests of those who completed the physical assessments on August 9.

In addition, 24 candidates who were initially marked as unsuccessful in the knowledge test but later deemed successful after appeal will also take part in this retake of the visual memory dimension.

EBAP’s managing director, Violeta Rodríguez, stated that this decision “reflects the institution’s commitment to guaranteeing a rigorous, transparent process based on the principles of equality, merit, and ability.”

The EBAP emphasised that these actions are part of the normal development of a complex selection process. While regretting any inconvenience caused, the institution reaffirmed that all measures have been taken within the legal framework to ensure transparency and safeguard the rights of all candidates.
