The Origins of BiniGym 2025
—How was BiniGym 2025 born?
Hugo: Three years ago, we decided to launch this project. I am a Gramba self-defence instructor, and we wanted to create a different kind of centre in Mallorca. In fact, we are the only centre on the island, and one of the few in the world recognised by the international federation Krav Maga Global, which is present across the globe.
Joaquín: My background is more focused on weight training and physical conditioning. Together we complement each other: Hugo provides the self-defence training, and I bring in the technical and functional training. That’s how BiniGym Mallorca was born — as a complete and accessible fitness project.
The Philosophy of BiniGym 2025
—What is the philosophy of your centre?
Hugo: For us, it is key that students learn to strengthen themselves not only physically but also mentally. We work with functional training, Muay Thai, and realistic self-defence. Our goal is for people to feel safer in their everyday lives.
At BiniGym 2025, we do not promote competition because self-defence is not a competitive sport. What we teach are real-life tools: confidence, security, self-control, and how to react without resorting to violence.
Benefits for Children and Teenagers
—What benefits does it bring to children and young people?
Hugo: We have groups divided by age: from 5 to 10 years old, from 11 to 15, and adults. For the younger ones, training is very beneficial on a mental level. It gives them confidence, tools against bullying, and the ability to move and react safely.
At BiniGym 2025, children develop discipline, self-esteem, and skills that will serve them in many areas of life.
Real-Life Training Scenarios
—You’ve organised training sessions in real scenarios. What do they consist of?
Hugo: Yes, at the Fira de sa Pedra, we did a simulation of a fight in a bar and another inside a bus. The idea was to show people how to move and get out of a complicated situation without violence and always in accordance with the law.
In the future, we want to carry out more experiences like these: in hotels, corridors, elevators, staircases, and even nighttime training for unexpected situations. The goal is to learn in a different environment and, at the same time, have fun.
Joaquín’s Role in the BiniGym 2025
—What role does Joaquín play in the gym?
Joaquín: I am in charge of making sure people use the machines properly, with correct technique and without injuries. It’s not about lifting as much weight as possible, but about stimulating the muscle correctly. With consistency, technique, and a good routine, you achieve visible results and, more importantly, improve both physical and mental health.
At BiniGym 2025, technical precision in training is just as important as motivation.
What Makes BiniGym Different
—What makes BiniGym 2025 different from other gyms in Mallorca?
Hugo: We want it to be a family-friendly and mixed gym, open to all kinds of people. It is not a bodybuilding centre, but rather a place where both young and old can train together in harmony.
Joaquín: We advocate for a healthy lifestyle: balanced training, good nutrition, proper rest, and also hobbies to enjoy life. Sports should be considered a basic necessity because they improve your life and also the lives of those around you.
Ultimately, BiniGym is not just another gym; it is a space where overall well-being comes first.
Dynamics and Schedule at BiniGym
—What is the dynamic of your gym?
Hugo: We are open from Monday to Sunday, from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m., so nobody has an excuse not to train. In addition to self-defence and Muay Thai, we also provide training for companies, such as drivers or healthcare personnel, to give them self-protection tools for complicated situations.
With its flexible hours and wide range of activities, BiniGym Mallorca adapts to any lifestyle.
How to Join BiniGym
—If someone wants to sign up, how can they do it?
Hugo: They can come directly to the gym or contact us through Instagram and Facebook. We are always open to welcoming new people who want to improve both physically and mentally.
The message is clear: BiniGym Mallorca is open to everyone, regardless of age or fitness level. The most important thing is simply to take the first step.
Conclusion: BiniGym, More Than a Gym in Mallorca
