2025 World Photography Day. On September 11, Binissalem inaugurated the exhibition “Vida Sana”, a cultural and social project commemorating the 2025 World Photography Day, which will remain open until September 30. The initiative is promoted by the Cultural Exchange Association of Mallorca and the Balearic Islands, a member of UNESCO associations and clubs, with the collaboration of the Binissalem City Council and the digital media Thursday Daily Bulletin.

2025 World Photography Day. The project was born with a clear goal: to link the art of photography with the promotion of physical and mental well-being. Under the theme “Vida Sana” (Healthy Life), the exhibition presents an open, inclusive and plural space where visual creativity becomes a tool for reflection, expression and awareness.

22025 World Photography Day. Collaboration among seven local wellness centres

For the first time, seven wellness centres in Binissalem have joined forces to give life to this initiative:

  • Mindfulness · Therapy · Meditation (C/ d’Alaró, 25)
  • Ca s’Òliba · Yoga Center (C/ d’Alaró, 25)
  • Essència Pilates (C/ Francesc de Borja Moll, 15B)
  • Binigym (C/ Antoni Morey, 6)
  • Neus Villalonga (Movement) (C/ Anselm Turmeda, 4)
  • Primeros Pasos (C/ d’es Reg, 39)
  • Crea Vida — Can Cassot (C/ Maria, 2)

These centres, dedicated to yoga, pilates, physical activity, meditation, mindful movement and healthy lifestyle education, have turned their spaces into exhibition venues. The goal is to democratize access to culture while promoting a common message: caring for body and mind is essential for personal and collective well-being.

2025 World Photography Day. Photography as a tool for awareness

The exhibition features works by guest photographers: Óscar Pipkin, with images addressing obesity and mobile phone addiction; and Úrsula Cabrer Estrany, who explores the healthcare world, focusing on elderly people, as well as themes related to the sea and equestrian shows.

The remaining images represent the idea of a healthy lifestyle, portrayed by the participating centres, from physical activities to meditation practices and community well-being projects.

2025 World Photography Day. An open and decentralised exhibition

Unlike traditional shows, “Vida Sana” is spread across the seven wellness centres, each hosting images from all participants. This allows visitors to walk through Binissalem while enjoying a collective visual journey.

The exhibition is free and open to all audiences, breaking barriers of access and schedules. As organisers state, it is “a way of bringing art closer to daily life.”

2025 World Photography Day. Community pride and projection

This pioneering collaboration has been described as “wonderful,” highlighting the strong community commitment behind the project. Binissalem can proudly affirm that healthy living finds in its centers not only great professionals, but also better people.

The initiative also strengthens Binissalem’s role as a cultural hub in Mallorca, demonstrating how smaller towns can lead with creativity, cooperation and innovative approaches. By opening its doors, the town reaches a broader audience, including visitors from across the island and international tourists who are increasingly drawn to authentic cultural experiences. In this sense, Vida Sana is not only an art exhibition, but also a form of cultural diplomacy that projects Binissalem’s values of wellness, solidarity and sustainability beyond its borders.

The expectation is that this first edition will become a reference for future projects, expanding to more centers, photographers and complementary activities. Workshops, talks, interactive dynamics and meetings between artists and citizens could soon become part of the program, turning World Photography Day in Binissalem into an annual cultural landmark. The organizers hope that by reinforcing the dialogue between art, health and community, the town will position itself as a model for other municipalities in Mallorca and abroad, inspiring similar initiatives that blend creativity with well-being.

Until September 30, 2025, the public is invited to visit the participating centers and be inspired by this celebration of life, health and photography.
