European Mobility Week takes place from September 16 to 22 under the slogan “Mobility for All”

The Government of the Balearic Islands, Palma City Council, and the Consell de Mallorca present the program of activities, which includes a major street festival, Park(ing) Day, and a gathering of healthy routes.

Palma will host a wide range of activities for all audiences, from technical forums to recreational, family-oriented, school-based, and sports events.

The Government of the Balearic Islands — through the Directorate General of Mobility, the Mallorca Transport Consortium (CTM), and Serveis Ferroviaris de Mallorca (SFM); Palma City Council — via the Mobility Department in collaboration with SMAP, BiciPalma, and EMT Palma; and the Consell de Mallorca have scheduled numerous activities to celebrate European Mobility Week from September 16 to 22.

European Mobility Week

This year’s edition, under the motto “Mobility for All”, is celebrated in 1,338 cities across 37 European countries, aiming to promote public transport that is available, accessible, affordable, safe, and sustainable for everyone, regardless of personal circumstances, income, location, or individual mobility challenges.

Key highlights include:

  • Technical conferences at Es Baluard Museum (September 16–17).
  • Mobility Day (September 20), with family-friendly activities and traffic-free city centre streets.
  • Presentation of a new audio announcement system for the TIB bus network, adapted for people with visual impairments.
  • Exhibition “150 Years of Trains in Mallorca” at Intermodal Station.
  • Public Transport Loyalty Awards ceremony (September 18).
  • Park(ing) Day (September 19).
  • Guided visits to the TIB bus depot in Felanitx and the SFM train and metro control centre in Palma.
  • Competitions: Tibmetratges (short films) and children’s drawing contests.
  • European Car-Free Day (September 22), featuring the 10th edition of the “Tour of Mallorca by Train”.
