The committee members were: Dr Concepción Camarero Bullón (Autonomous University of Madrid), Dr Maria Victoria Ceperuelo Mallafré (Pere Virgili Health Research Institute), Dr Josep Rotllant Moragas (Institute of Marine Research of Vigo – CSIC), Dr Pedro Antonio Arnau del Amo (International Centre for Numerical Methods in Engineering – CIMNE), and Dr Yolanda Moliner Martínez (University of Valencia).

The FPI and FPI-E grants aim to finance the recruitment and training of 26 predoctoral researchers at research centres, technology development institutions, and companies based in the Balearic Islands. The initiative seeks to attract research talent and strengthen the R&D capacity of the region.

Each grant consists of a 48-month predoctoral contract. The total budget is €3,593,131, with 60% co-financed by the European Social Fund under the Balearic Islands FSE+ Programme 2021-2027. The funding covers researchers’ salaries, part of the employer’s Social Security contribution, contract termination compensation, and doctoral tuition fees.
