The Consell de Mallorca has officially launched its new WhatsApp channel today, aiming to establish a faster and more direct connection with the island’s residents.

Through this service, citizens will receive real-time updates, including official announcements, service notifications, cultural events, funding calls, as well as alerts on emergencies, traffic, and weather conditions.

Consell de Mallorca launches official WhatsApp channel to boost direct communication with citizens

Rafel Bosch, Minister of Finance, Innovation and Public Function, emphasised that “this new WhatsApp channel will allow citizens to stay updated on the Consell’s latest news simply and immediately.” He added that it is another step in bringing the institution closer to the people of Mallorca.

The initiative is part of the Council’s wider digital communication strategy, which includes a redesigned institutional website offering a more modern, user-friendly, and mobile-optimised interface, as well as an enhanced presence on social media.

Citizens interested in joining the new channel can do so via the Council’s website, directly through WhatsApp, or by scanning the QR code featured in official publications.
