Through this measure, the Ministry of Youth and Childhood reaffirms its commitment to supporting border territories, which are at the frontline of arrivals, to ensure the protection and rights of migrant minors.

The Minister of Youth and Childhood and president of the CSIA, Sira Rego, stated:

“The Government of Spain is providing all the necessary resources to regional administrations to guarantee the sustainability of reception systems and to ensure that the best interests of children always prevail.”

At the same time, the Spanish Government is moving forward with the implementation of Royal Decree 2/2025, which sets out the relocation of migrant minors from territories under extraordinary migratory pressure —Canary Islands, Ceuta, and Melilla— to other autonomous communities.
