The Inter-Island Advisory Commission on Trade, meeting this morning at the Ministry of Business, Self-Employment and Energy, has unanimously approved the calendar of trading days on holidays and Sundays for 2026.
The session was attended by the Director General of Business, Self-Employment and Trade, Pedrona Seguí, together with representatives of the island councils of the Balearic Islands, trade unions, and business associations.

Approved: 2026 Trading Calendar for Holidays and Sundays
The approved trading dates are:
- January 4 (Sunday, Epiphany eve)
- January 18 (Sunday)
- March 8 (Sunday)
- April 2 (Holy Thursday)
- August 15 (Saturday, Assumption of Mary)
- September 6 (Sunday before the start of the school year)
- November 29 (Sunday after Black Friday)
- December 6 (Constitution Day)
- December 20 (Sunday)
- December 26 (Saturday, Boxing Day / Second Christmas Holiday)
At the end of the meeting, Seguí expressed her satisfaction with the agreement: “I would like to congratulate all the representatives of the commercial sector for their positive attitude and constructive spirit, which have made it possible to approve a balanced calendar beneficial for everyone.”
She also recalled that December 26 is already recognised as an official public holiday in the Balearic Islands. In addition, it was agreed that municipalities may request to replace August 15 and September 6 with alternative dates.
