The Mallorca Fire Brigade, deployed to Ibiza last Tuesday to assist with emergency operations after severe flooding, returned to the island on Thursday evening.
The team arrived at 9:45 p.m. at the Port of Palma (Pelaires Dock), where they were welcomed by Llorenç Galmés, President of the Consell de Mallorca, and Joan Fornàs, the Island Director of Emergencies.
Over the course of four days, the firefighters worked closely with Ibiza’s emergency services, focusing their efforts on pumping water from homes, basements, hotels, and public service offices using electric pumps and rescue equipment.

Mallorca firefighters return after assisting emergency services in Ibiza following torrential rains
The team consisted of six firefighters and two light pick-up vehicles equipped with water pumps, hoses, tubes, manual tools, and rescue gear, which allowed them to operate efficiently in the most affected areas.
President Llorenç Galmés praised the firefighters’ professionalism and solidarity:
“Once again, Mallorca’s firefighters have shown their dedication and readiness to help, supporting Ibiza during a very challenging situation. We are extremely proud of their service and commitment to citizens.”
He also highlighted the value of inter-island cooperation:
“Collaboration between islands is essential to respond effectively to emergencies. I want to sincerely thank the firefighters who took part in this mission, as well as the entire Mallorca Fire Brigade, for their dedication and teamwork.”
