The President of the Consell de Mallorca, Llorenç Galmés, met today with the President of Sa Xerxa de Teatre Infantil i Juvenil de les Illes Balears, Jaume Gomila, to discuss the organisation of the upcoming edition of the FIET – Children’s and Youth Theatre Fair of the Balearic Islands, which will take place from October 16 to 19 in Vilafranca de Bonany.

Also present at the meeting were the First Vice President and Minister of Culture and Heritage, Antònia Roca; the Island Director of Culture, Guillem Ginard; and the Secretary of Sa Xerxa, Jordi Rosselló.

President Galmés Meets with the Head of Sa Xerxa to Prepare the New Edition of FIET

During the meeting, they discussed the Consell de Mallorca’s collaboration with this major cultural event, which this year celebrates its 23rd edition and receives financial support from the island’s government. The FIET has become a benchmark event for family theatre, attracting around 20,000 visitors from across Mallorca each year.

This year’s program will feature more than 40 theatre companies and over 200 performing arts professionals from Mallorca, the rest of Spain, and abroad. A key new feature this year is the signing of a collaboration agreement with the Teatre Principal de Palma, which will strengthen the fair’s visibility and outreach.
